No.
This feature is finer dependent on the OS of a camera - no manufacturer (other than phones) has this adequacy.

There is some procedure with Lumix Club on Panasonic'south, but it seems cumbersome.

An alternative method with Panasonic is to set up in the wifi settings to transfer images to your phone as you have them and set Google Drive to automatically upload them.
The Panasonic Image App on Android is quite good.

You could get a eyefi carte and send the photos to your telephone and so use a sync program on your phone to send the photos to Google.

dunno simply all the current models tin upload to a smartphone via bluetooth and/or wifi and then to google photos - - almost instantaneously

Correction: I know at to the lowest degree the Samsung Milky way 2 photographic camera does, but running an older android version, about 4.two. I have been VERY pleased with the Samsung camera over the last 4 years, but sometimes phones cametas, ESPECIALLY newer models, tin can out perform.
I am now in search of a "newer" and amend pick. I still have the Samsung Galaxy 2 camera, it works, only showing its age. Pictures "tin" be sharp, but requires good lighting. Videos are SUPER fun to create with Google Photos!
I too am in search of the next better pick. Merely stumbled on this to blurt my express and aging noesis.

What near DIRECTLY over wifi? Students dont bring phones to school and I am researching for our yearbook team. They currently apply a Samsung Galaxy ii which syncs straight to Google Photos, only one more update of Google Photos, and I am afraid information technology will not be supported soon! The photographic camera is currently "stuck" at Android four.ii or 4.iii...

While it'southward not directly from the camera, if your GX1 can connect with the Panasonic Image App it can be washed that way: pull images from the camera to your smartphone with the Paradigm App & sync up with Google Photos to move them to the deject.

Nosotros utilize a Catechism Powershot sx620 hs that sends the pics via wifi to Google Drive but we adopt Google Photos. I am trying to see if Bulldoze will sync with photos just I'1000 not sure I'm getting anywhere with that. Students use these cameras for the yearbook equally we prefer for them to go out phones at home.

As mentioned before Panasonic Image App for Android is great. It lets you control the camera for shots and as well transfer jpegs about instantly to your telephone. I wish Panasonic would likewise permit this feature for the raw files in the hereafter for my camera. Would make the backup process easy while travelling.

Panasonic and Olympus take had that facility for years using their app on the phone. They can either be transferred to the phone after shooting past choosing specific images, or all. Or they can transfer as you shoot.
Obviously these apps allow full remote control of everything apart from transmission zoom and the main control dial position iA P A S M so on. Pic profiles and art filters can be added remotely though.
Not sure if all features above are relevant to both brands, but nigh are. The apps work with all wi-fi enabled phones from both brands, which is merely most every camera fabricated in the last v years including Lumix TZ Travel-zooms [LS in some countries].

I know this is a lot of years later on, *Merely* you lot tin can finally do this coming in June. Canon, with the image.canon service, at present offers direct from camera upload to the deject. They currently back up direct cloud upload and and then subsequent automated download to Google Bulldoze, Flickr, PC/Mac, and Android/iPhone. Several other cloud storage / photo repos are on the road map. Google Photos is schedule for June of 2020. I've tested it extensively, and it works nifty. It as well supports many older camera bodies, going back all the way to the 6D from 2012 and 70D from 2013. My use case is not professional - our family phones at present go straight to gPhotos, and my EOS R replicates to my home NAS via image.canon-> Windows PC->NAS so upward to gPhotos via Google Backup and Sync. Once image.canon supports gPhotos, I can eliminate the NAS -> gPhotos entirely. From a photo collection standpoint, looking at the internals of gPhotos via API, it's a bloody mess, and then I'll just dump stuff there and their app/web GUI tin can sort it.
