Two iKon members in accident involving boozer commuter, agency apologises
1000-pop singers Koo Jun-hoe and Kim Jin-hwan were in a van, driven by a drunkard driver, that skidded in the rain and crashed into a highway wall.
YG Entertainment has apologised on Tuesday (Jul 14) after two of the members of Grand-pop group iKon were involved in an accident early Mon forenoon.
Koo Jun-hoe and Kim Jin-hwan were in a van that skidded in the pelting and crashed into a highway wall at iii.40am. They, along with the driver, suffered minor injuries and were sent to a nearby hospital.
The commuter, who is the band's manager, had a blood alcohol level of 0.08 per cent, which is over the legal limit. He was afterwards booked for driving under the influence and could lose his license.
Co-ordinate to The Korea Times, police are also examining if the two iKon members should be charged for failure to prevent drunk driving. If they do terminate upwardly getting booked, they could face to eighteen months in jail or a fine of 5 million won (S$5,800).
YG Amusement said in an official statement: "We sincerely apologise for the accident. We will deport an in-depth internal investigation about information technology and accept stringent measures (confronting those involved)."
The agency expressed concerned that such an accident occurred despite strict company regulations against beverage driving. It also added that Koo and Kim were both resting.
